2000 Great Songs #1449: It Doesn't Matter

The Orange Humble Band were a sort of power pop/jangle pop supergroup that released a few records over the years, composed primarily of Australian musician Darryl Mather (of the Lime Spiders and the underappreciated Someloves) joined by, among others, jangle legend Mitch Easter (of Let's Active as wells as the producer of R.E.M. and everyone else we all love) and Ken Stringfellow of the Posies.

1997's debut Assorted Creams is one of those albums I really love even though it seems nobody else I know has ever heard it. Plenty of good tunes to choose from, but I particularly enjoy "It Doesn't Matter," an understated, chiming little pop ditty that manages the sort of chorus that still rings in my head, like, all the time.
