2000 Great Songs #1450: My Heart And The Real World

This is our third visit to the classic 1984 Minutemen double LP Double Nickels On The Dime--though, measured in terms of total playing time, it's still less music than I've pulled from most records making a single appearance on the list. Case in point: "My Heart And The Real World" stays true to the band's name, barely passing the 60-second mark. Yet that's enough time for a wonderfully catchy, jangly riff, some cutting lyrics about oppression and/or sexual politics (?), and even a guitar solo. Leave 'em wanting more, indeed.
