My Top 1000 Songs #640: Words

For the second time this week, I'm reaching back for one of those songs that absolutely screams "high school!" for me. Missing Persons' 1982, Spring Session M (ooh, anagram!), was one of those new wave records (alongside, say, the Flock of Seagulls' debut) that I didn't necessarily play very often--I was still very much in classic rock & prog mode at the time--but you'd hear the songs at parties, on the radio, or on MTV or late night cable, and they've never lost those teenage associations for me. Spring Session M was surprisingly solid, with a fistful of great singles, though "Words" remains the highlight for me.
