My Top 1000 Songs #644: Hyacinth Girl

[I've been writing up my Top 1000 songs on a daily basis--you can see them all in descending order by hitting the All My Favorite Songs tag.]

C'mon, people, there's only so many times I can shout from the rooftops about Winter Hours, one of the greatest jangle pop acts of the 80s that is sadly lost to history. "Hyacinth Girl" is my second dip into their fantastic 1986 EP Wait Till The Morning (later collected on a 1989 compilation of the same name). As the record (like most of their work) is out of print and doesn't stream, you'll need to dig around a bit (or I could upload my personal Winter Hours collection again)--but you'll be glad you did. It's a beautiful song, gentle and pastoral, showcasing the stunning vocals of the late great Joseph Marques.
