Long-running Scottish jangle-pop band BMX Bandits have been churning out catchy indie pop for 40-odd years, yet have never gotten the attention they deserved (at least here in the States), certainly well shy of the like-minded (and sometime collaborators) Teenage Fanclub. So there's a serious back-catalog of wonderful music awaiting discovery if you're new to them. A fine introduction can be found on the 1993 single "Kylie's Got A Crush On Us," later included on the excellent compilation Serious Drugs. I'm not sure the sentiments resonate over here (Australian namesake singer Kylie Minogue was never as much of a thing in the US, or at least never on my radar screen), but that doesn't make the song any less charming, a goofy little trifle of a pop anthem that's tuneful enough it'll have you singing along by the end.
