My Top 1000 Songs #894: Kids

One of the few occasions from the past quarter century when some hugely popular, inescapable single actually captured my interest. Electronic art-pop duo MGMT conjure an indelible hook, some evocative lyrics... and one of the few times my kids and I were listening to the same thing. Can't say I've spent much time with the rest of 2007's Oracular Spectacular, and I've only made occasional attempts to catch up on what they've been doing since then, but the song is still fascinating. Bonus points for a truly terrifying official video, and an even better and endlessly charming fan video that's probably far better known.
