2000 Great Songs #1486: Metal Firecracker

Lucinda Williams has released a ton of great records over the decades, but if I had to pick just one I'd have to go with 1998's Car Wheels On A Gravel Road. Just non-stop great tunes, one after another, right? Hard to pick a favorite, but I've always been partial to "Metal Firecracker." It's much more of a pop-country song that you'll typically catch me enjoying, but the mash-up of twang and catchy hooks is just drop-dead perfect here. I imagine if what passes for "country music" in contemporary American culture sounded like this I'd be much more of a fan.
