My Top 1000 Songs #690: Losing My Edge

[I've been writing up my Top 1000 songs on a daily basis--you can see them all in descending order by hitting the All My Favorite Songs tag.] 

Ok, musically speaking, LCD Soundsystem aren't really in my wheelhouse; we're just not seeing a lot of electronic music on this list, are we, folks? But thematically, this one speaks to me for obvious reasons, the aging hipster bemoaning his declining cultural relevance. And while the spoken word lament isn't something you need to spin up every day, its continuing entertainment value some 20+ years since its 2002 release makes it tough to write it off as a mere novelty song. And frankly, any song that includes the line "I heard you have a compilation of every good song ever done by anybody. Every great songs by the Beach Boys. All the underground hits. All the Modern Lovers tracks..."--well, yeah, that's gonna get my attention.
